What's weed taste like?

I haven't smoked weed before. But I was at a stoners house and I picked up a cigarette to smoke, I smoke regularly, and after I smoked like 1 1/2 full cigarettes I found, I started to feel a little different. The cigarette kind of tasted like grass but I don't really know. Help?
