Everything Zootal said is true. Xanax is a brutal drug to withdrawal from and cold turkey is dangerous. Opiate withdrawal is very similar to the flu. This doesn't sound like the flu. Get in touch with your doc, hopefully he's competent enough to handle this. Good luck.
